Tayler Howell-Hanson                New York Times     #3   Protecting The Right To Vote           A student journalist at pittsburgh High School in Pittsburgh, Kansas became highly suspicious. That they had set out to profile a recently hired principal, AMy Robertson, for the school paper but the details of her background, including where she got her degrees from, did not begin to add up. The reporters had then met with the superintendent Named Destery Brown about all of their concerns. He became very supportive. Because of that on Friday that night in March 2017, the paper had been  published a story calling attention to the differences in the two sides of the story. Current event #2           Tayler Howell-Hanson New York Times Scholastic   No Hiding Your Face        It all went down in a store in  Cornelius, Oregon in 2017 a woman walked in and, stashed a $130 pair of boots into her purse then walked out. The Washington County sheriff's office had uploaded images, of her when she was in the store from the security cameras. But luckily they have a new crime solving tool a facial recognition system. Within a few seconds the tool came up with a few potential matches of the thief. The case, which in the past might have never been able to be cracked, was solved within seconds . Then a deputy spoke to one of these women, luckily the woman confessed to the crime and was then charged with theft.     I think that the new tool called a facial recognition system, is a good tool to find thieves in a short period of time.                                              Will Ginger Get To Stay  A girl named Ginger and her mother and her Grandfather. Lived in a country called Honduras, But there was just a few problems with living there. Because there was “intense violence from gangs and drug cartels”. When Ginger was about the age of 15 her mother left. But she left for one reason and one reason only. Because she got taken by drug cartels, and she thought that it was just too dangerous for her to stay there. But she also left behind her own daughter Who is now 17 years old but, when Ginger was 15 she also got taken by drug cartels. It all happened when Ginger was walking home from school. In the over crowed neighborhood in Honduras where she grew up. Then it all began a women walked up to her and started to talk to her, as the woman was talking to her she became distracted. and a man came behind her and grabbed her. After that they brought her to an abandoned house and left her there for several day
